This sector of ARID specializes in investigations regarding illegal or spurious transmissions on Amateur Radio bands, or finding illegally operating stations. We are equipped with state-of-the-art foxhunting equipment and are capable of using AI to track these instances.

Wireless activity VERIFICATION & ENFORCEMENT

This sector of ARID specializes in addressing the illegal stations found by ARID STIC. This includes letters of cease and desist, and forwarding investigatory information to FCC and proper enforcement entities.

PRECipitation & Storm tracking association

This sector of ARID specializes in the recording of weather events, ambient atmospheric conditions, and ground truth. This information is then forwarded to the National Weather service and other meteorological entities through APRS and direct amateur radio transmission. These services are to be free of charge, and any member of ARID can join.

SWIMMING PROFICIENCY AND LEISURE AQUATIC sporting HAVEN

The Swimming Proficiency and Leisure Aquatic Sporting Haven (S.P.L.A.S.H.) is ARID's dedicated corps for promoting swimming skills and aquatic activities. We offer a range of programs focused on improving swimming proficiency and organizing leisure aquatic events. S.P.L.A.S.H. provides swimming lessons and training sessions to enhance members' skills and confidence in the water. We also organize recreational activities and water games for all ages to enjoy.

In addition, S.P.L.A.S.H. features our unique water-based throwing sport called "P." This exciting game involves ball transfer and combines elements of swimming and teamwork, offering a fun and engaging way to stay active in the water.

GMRS Radio interest division

The GMRS Radio Interest Division (G.R.I.D.) is ARID’s specialized corps focused on the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS). G.R.I.D. aims to promote the use and understanding of GMRS among its members through a variety of activities and resources.


G.R.I.D. provides educational materials and training sessions to help members understand GMRS basics, including licensing requirements and radio operation. We also organize regular events such as radio nets, field days, and foxhunts to give members practical experience and enhance their skills.


Additionally, G.R.I.D. offers guidance on selecting and using GMRS equipment, ensuring members are well-equipped for their communication needs. We emphasize the importance of GMRS in emergency communication and conduct workshops and drills to prepare members for effective radio use during emergencies.

Meshtastic operations network corps

The Meshtastic Operations Network Corps (M.O.N.C.) is ARID’s dedicated corps focused on promoting and utilizing mesh network technologies. M.O.N.C. aims to enhance communication capabilities through innovative and resilient mesh networks, offering a range of activities and resources for members.


M.O.N.C. provides educational materials and hands-on training to help members understand and implement mesh networking. Our sessions cover the basics of mesh technology, best practices, and practical applications in various scenarios.


In addition, M.O.N.C. organizes regular workshops, field exercises, and network-building events. These activities provide members with opportunities to practice and refine their skills in setting up and maintaining mesh networks.

We also offer guidance on selecting and using mesh networking equipment, ensuring members have the necessary tools to create robust communication networks. M.O.N.C. emphasizes the importance of mesh networks in emergency and off-grid communication, preparing members for effective network deployment in critical situations.
